Product Description
Alumina Trihydrate (ATH) is a well known flame retardant used in a vast array of industries like rubber, plastic, etc.
Alumina trihydrate (ATH) contains 3 molecules of water. When ATH is exposed to heat above 220 deg C, it decomposes into aluminium oxide (alumina) and water. This is an irreversible and endothermic reaction. This property makes Aluminium Hydroxide an effective flame retardant.
The smoke generated by decomposition is non-corrosive and non-poisonous.
